The timely cooperation aims to pave the way to greater retail service quality to meet the needs of increasing numbers in passenger traffic.
Award winning travel retail operator, Nuance-Watson has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) that is set to see the two organisations working together to impart their skills, experience and resources to groom current and future talents in the ever expanding service and travel retail industry.
Since its inception in 2001, Nuance-Watson has taken claims to numerous industry recognized awards including the DFNI Global Awards for “Best Travel Retailer of the Year” in 2012. Today, Nuance-Watson operates 27 retail stores located at Changi International Airport raking up sales of up to $360 Million in 2011. The recent positive incline of passenger traffic in Changi Airport will also see Nuance-Watson gearing up for more service staff, providing comprehensive training and offering a bigger variety of products to give customers a rewarding shopping experience.
“The Memorandum of Understanding with ITE comes at an excellent time as Nuance-Watson progresses further in enhancing quality service standards alongside steady increase in passenger traffic in Changi Airport. As part of the Memorandum of Understanding, Nuance–Watson will facilitate the transfer of service and retail-related expertise and knowledge to ITE students from the School of Business Studies for a two year period, till 2014.
The core component of the memorandum states that Nuance-Watson will provide ITE students the chance to obtain training opportunities, scholarships as well as industrial attachment and employment within the Nuance-Watson’s group. In exchange, ITE will grant Nuance-Watson training and provision of short courses for the betterment of their service staff.

Industry Projects for Students
Nuance-Watson will provide ITE with contact center related projects to enhancing learning experience for ITE students. Access to College West’s Service Management Center facilities will be granted to Nuance-Watson to carry out projects in which ITE students can impart the skill sets they have garnered from their education.
The awarded projects shall be supervised by ITE staff, in consultation with Nuance-Watson. This project aims to offer real insights into the world of retail, guided by industry professionals that will enable students to better understand the works of the retail industry upon graduation.
